Tracking climate finance is critical - but are current systems helping understand where funds are going and whether they are making a difference?
On 3 December 2024, ClimateFiGS hosted 23 participants at the UvA’s Institute for Advanced Study, who shared insights and experience related to public and private climate finance tracking, from the perspective of both contributors and recipients. We explored, among many other topics:
- Insights and experience related to public, private and recipient national climate finance tracking.
- How fragmented methodologies affect transparency and accountability.
- Theories of change guiding different actors in the climate finance space.
- Emerging innovations in tracking reporting.
The result was an enriching conversation, and a report that synthesized the key lessons and calls to action from the workshop.
